What is the INWA Nordic Walking certification?
INWA stands for the International Nordic Walking Federation. It is an internationally recognised qualification that allows you to teach Nordic Walking safely and professionally.
How long does the instructor course take?
The course includes pre-course learning and 2 practical training days, followed by assessment. On average the pre-course materials take 6 hours.
Do I need to be very fit to do this course?
No. You do not need to be ultra-fit or from a fitness background. The course is designed for people who want to teach safely and confidently, not elite athletes.
What support do I receive after qualifying?
After qualifying, you receive ongoing support from British Nordic Walking, access to continued professional development (CPD), marketing guidance and a supportive instructor community.
Can I earn money as a Nordic Walking instructor?
Yes. Many instructors run local classes, courses and wellbeing sessions. Some recover their course fee within their first few months of teaching. Income depends on how often you choose to teach.
