Nordic Walk Leader

A Nordic Walk Leader leads walks for people who have already been taught to Nordic Walk by an instructor qualified in the INWA 10 Step Method. If you want to qualify to teach people how to Nordic Walk, you need our Instructor Course instead.

Walk Leaders often act as assistants to a Nordic Walking Instructor as their groups and classes grow. Nordic Walk Leaders will need their own insurance, separate from that of any Nordic Walking Instructor that they work alongside, and specially designed insurance is available through our insurance scheme.

Many Nordic Walking community projects, for example those run by Age UK and Age Cymru, use Nordic Walk Leaders. People new to Nordic Walking complete a course of Nordic Walking lessons with a qualified Nordic Walking Instructor and then go on to join regular led walks by a Nordic Walk Leader.

The INWA Certified Nordic Walking Leader course is a fun and interactive  course where you will:

  • Learn to plan group Nordic Walks in a safe environment, do risk assessments and deal with emergency situations.
  • Learn to lead and motivate a group of Nordic Walkers, to set the correct pace for your group and ensure everyone has a positive experience.
  • Learn to lead a safe warm up and cool down.
