Name: Gary Owen

Company Name: Inspire First Training

About me:

Since 1994, I have organized and led 22 hiking and trekking expeditions across the USA, New Zealand, Canada, Austria, Germany, and Norway. My journey into Nordic Skiing began in 2012, when I earned a Bronze award through the German Ski Scheme in Zwiesel. The muscle memory I developed from Nordic skiing naturally led me to Nordic Walking, and in 2017, I became a certified British Nordic Walking instructor. I then provided Nordic Walking Technique Workshops and guided walks.

In 2018, I achieved a Level 3 Award in Teaching and Training, and I am also a qualified Level 3 Outdoor First Aid Instructor, Level 3 Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults Instructor, and Level 3 First Aid for Mental Health Instructor. Additionally, I have been facilitating Diversity and Inclusion training for 10 years and hold Defence Barring Service certification.

What’s on offer?

As well as Nordic Walking Technique Workshops, I offer a range of guided walks around Cotswold Waterpark, Cirencester and Bagendon. To ensure a personalized experience, I limit group sizes to eight participants and adjust the terrain to suit individual needs, from flat paths to undulating tracks.

My philosophy is simple: Inspire, Include, Empower. My sessions are designed to be fun, friendly, and welcoming. If you're looking to discover your sense of belonging and take the first steps toward a healthier you, join me on this journey.
