Course Joining Instructions – YHA Chester Trafford Hall

Thank you for booking your Nordic Walking Instructor course with British Nordic Walking. We're looking forward to welcoming you to YHA Chester Trafford Hall—a peaceful countryside venue just outside the historic city of Chester—for a two days of practical, hands-on training.

Course Times

The course runs from 9:00am to 5:00pm on both days.
Please arrive 15 minutes early (by 8:45am) so we can begin promptly with introductions and equipment set-up.

Your full British Nordic Walking Instructor manual
Nordic Walking poles (if you don’t have your own)
Tea, coffee, and plenty of cheer!

What to Bring

Please bring the following:

A packed lunch for both days
Plenty of layers and spare outdoor clothing — we train outside in all weather conditions
Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)
A notepad and pen
Most importantly: your enthusiasm!

Meeting Point

We’ll meet in the main reception area at YHA Chester Trafford Hall.
Look out for your instructor, Karen Ingram, in British Nordic Walking clothing. Final contact details will be sent before the course in case you need assistance on the day.

How to Find It / Parking

YHA Chester Trafford Hall is just off the A56, 5 miles from Chester.
Free on-site parking is available for all course participants.
Follow signs for “Trafford Hall” from Ince Lane.

Public Transport Links

By Train: The nearest main station is Chester, around 15 minutes away by taxi.
By Bus: Services are limited due to the rural location, so we recommend arranging a taxi if not driving.
By Taxi: Local taxis from Chester station are reliable and take around 10–15 minutes.
