KAREN WOLFF | LETS GO NORDIC WALKING
Between Dartmoor and the north coast of Cornwall
What's on offer?
Nordic walking is available for beginners and people who have already trained with a British Nordic Walking instructor. I am based in Ashwater, between the north coast of Cornwall near Bude and Dartmoor, near Lydford. I run beginners courses at Bude, Tamar Lakes, Roadford Lake and Lydford. I take people on walks along the north coast of Cornwall from Port Gayverne up as far as Sandymouth. I do fitness walks on Dartmoor too. My favourite is up to Widgery Cross on Bray Tor. Come along and join me, having fun, keeping fit and taking in some breathtaking scenery!
Karen is a qualified INWA Nordic Walking Instructor.
When I first discovered Nordic walking, I loved the way it helped me power up hills. I enjoy keeping fit and healthy and find outdoor exercise is really good for me both mentally and physically. It helps to keep my weight down too, especially when I walk every day.
I have always enjoyed walking, following family walking holidays in the Lake District when I was growing up. When family moved to Cornwall, I began walking the coastal path and took part in Boscastle walking week, guiding a walk along Bude canal. Working at Tintagel Visitor Centre gave me a detailed knowledge of the area. With Dartmoor on my doorstep, the contrasting moorland scenery provides a different and equally beautiful type of challenge.
I have a background in teaching and training. I was an English language teacher for ten years both in the UK and abroad. Prior to that I was a trainer in the public sector. I also have experience of working with learning disability. I am currently a Dartmoor walking guide with moorland guides.
